| The
normal habitat of the Box Beaver is, sadly, fast disappearing. Modern agricultural
techniques, the use of chemicals and pesticides, slopped all over the land
with gay abandon (hmmmm...thanks Tarq), the invasion of urban plonkers
tramping all over our countryside with their "right to roam" shite,
has all taken its toll on this peaceful creature's private, and up to now,
secluded environment. |

Some
attempts have been made to breed the Box Beaver in captivity but
due to difficulties in replicating their environment and their complex
social structure, the experiments were unsuccessful and all of them
tended to develop a very aggressive nature.....ain't that the truth
!

| There
are still one or two locations where you may be lucky enough to get a sighting
of the Box
Beaver in it's natural
environment. However, you are going to need a countryman's stealth and cunning
to get near enough to a Box Beaver to enjoy
the beauty of this wonderful creature in it's natural habitat. |

It
goes without saying that the beauty of the Box Beaver is unsurpassed.
The Box Beaver Preservation
Society was founded to ensure that great care is taken so that this stunning,
sensitive creature and it's environment are protected for future generations.
